Rising Star Solutions specializes in Information Security and Information Assurance. The owner, Patrice Benniefield, A Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH) started her career in the Air Force as a Security Specialist in 1989. After serving four years in the Air Force Presidential Honor Guard, she transferred to Scott AFB where she continued her training in physical security and entry control technology. After leaving Active Duty, she joined the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department where she received several honors for her work as a Deputy Sheriff. In 2001, Ms. Benniefield joined the US Transportation Command as the
Secure Voice Manger in the Communications Security Office; she helped coordinate
service, train personnel, install equipment, and maintain levels of service across
Scott AFB in the wake of the September 11 attacks.

Ms. Benniefield moved from the Communications Security office into the Information Assurance section of security, where she not only conducted but also reviewed Certification and Accreditation documents for various information system types. After receiving her Master’s Degree with a Specialization in Information Security, backed by a certificate from NSA validating her training program, she worked with the Defense Information Systems Agency on secure systems for two years. Ms. Benniefield then turned her expertise towards working with procurement as one of the on-site IT Engineer’s and Project Manager, identifying solutions that were conducive to the
government’s Information Technology needs.

Ms. Benniefield has maintained her connection with Scott AFB and has served as an Information Assurance and Security Professional protecting the information important to our war fighters.
